In 2005, we offered
teachers the opportunity to submit a Teacher's Guide for one of our
new programs (The Price System). The teacher who submitted the best
guide was awarded a trip to Hawaii.
Andy Jobson from Riverside
Military Academy in Gainesville, GA submitted the best guide and took
the trip to Hawaii with his wife in the summer of 2006. Here
is what he wrote to us upon his return:
"My
wife and I recently had the opportunity of a lifetime to visit one of the
most beautiful places on earth, Kauai, Hawaii. We enjoyed so many parts
of our visit: the history, the lush scenery, the fresh fruit and local
treats (like shave ice). We were amazed at the diversity on such a small
island, too, from the sandy beaches to the steep cliffs, and the reds and
oranges of the Waimea Canyon (the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific,"
Mark Twain called it) to the greens of the botanical gardens, to the purple
of the Na Pali coast (and of course the blue ocean). We tried scuba
diving for the first time and enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise as well as the
almost obligatory luau. We are so grateful to the great folks at (izzit.org)
for providing such an opportunity."
