“Trust is the coin of the realm.” – George Shultz

In diplomacy, listening is critical. George Shultz had a knack for it. At Ronald Reagan’s side, Shultz helped broker the end of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, overcoming decades of tension and distrust.

He helped build a foundation of mutual respect and understanding that ultimately led to the signing of the INF Treaty, a historic agreement that eliminated an entire class of nuclear weapons.
